Skill Building

The SAT Skill Building Class is ideal for current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who want to strengthen their foundational skills for the Reading, Writing, and Math sections of the SAT. Classes are held in person in a small-group setting at our Ellicott City location.

TUITION RATES

• One-time enrollment fee ($50)

• Tuition for 1 class session is $220 (3.5 hours)

• Monthly tuition rates include the number of classes offered that month (excluding holidays or no class day). This will be automatically charged to the credit card on file on the first day of each month.

• Tuition can be adjusted for pre-arranged absences (sports, performances, school events, etc.) if communicated before the first day of the month. Once monthly tuition is charged, missed classes are non-refundable. Students will receive class materials, a video recording, and an optional 15-minute 1:1 Zoom meeting to ask questions for any missed class that has already been paid for.

FAQ

How much do students typically improve?

In 2025, several Kai Prep students scored above 1500, including standout scores of 1560, 1520, and 1500. Many students improved by more than 150 points, with the largest score jump being an impressive 460 points (from 980 to 1440). Most recently, our senior student improved 100 points with just 3 sessions!

How many students are in each class?

All classes have a maximum of 8 students to ensure personalized attention and high-quality instruction. We offer one class section during the school year (8 students max) and two sections in the summer (16 students max).

Do you assign homework?

Yes, students will have weekly assignments in both English and math, along with a vocabulary set to memorize. Each class includes a vocabulary quiz.

Do you offer a summer SAT program?

Yes. Our intensive 8-week summer session prepares students for the August SAT. Classes are held on weekdays, 3 days per week.

What if I can’t attend a class?

In case of missed classes, we provide the materials and a video recording of the missed class. Students may also email the teacher with questions or request a Zoom meeting. No refunds are given for missed classes, but in cases of multiple absences due to emergencies, class credits may be applied toward future sessions.
